Privacy Policy

KioTools (“we,” “us,” “KioTools”) provides free browser-based tools for images, PDFs, text, and everyday calculations at www.kiotools.com. This policy explains what happens to your data when you use the site.

The tools on KioTools run using JavaScript and WebAssembly directly inside your web browser. When you open a file, type text, or generate an output, that processing happens on your device — the file or text content is not transmitted to a KioTools server as part of the tool's core function.

Some tools download supporting resources the first time you use them, such as a font, a machine-learning model file, or a JavaScript library, from a content delivery network (CDN). These downloads are static program assets, not your personal files or documents.

There are three things to know that are not part of that core function:

• Keyword Suggestions, Live mode. The seed keyword you type is sent directly from your browser to Google, YouTube or Bing's public autocomplete service to fetch real suggestions — not to a KioTools server. Its Offline mode stays fully on your device, and the tool page says which mode you are in.
• Text to Speech. The tool uses the voices built into your browser and operating system and starts on an on-device one. A voice marked “online” may send the text to the company that supplies it in order to speak it. KioTools never receives the text either way.
• Manual Conversion (a paid Pro Service). If you order it, you choose to email us the file to be converted. We use it only to carry out your order.

Because implementation details can change as tools are updated, processing behavior may vary by tool over time. If you have a specific concern about how a particular tool processes data, contact us on Telegram or by email before uploading sensitive material.

Since files are processed in your browser rather than stored on our servers, there is generally no server-side copy of the files or text you process to retain or delete.

The aggregate counters described below are kept for about 13 months and then expire automatically. They hold no identifiers, so there is nothing in them to look up, correct or delete on request.

Pro Services orders and bug reports are different: they are stored until we delete them, with no automatic expiry, and you can ask us to delete yours at any time (see “Your rights”). Files you email us for a Manual Conversion are used only to carry out that order.

• Usage analytics: We keep our own aggregate counters — no third-party analytics provider is used. When a page loads we increment three running totals: one for the day, one for the country the request came from, and, on a tool page, one for that tool. The country is read from a header our hosting provider attaches at its edge; we never look up, receive or store your IP address. There is no record of an individual visit, and no identifier, cookie, session, user agent or referrer is stored with these counters, so nothing in them can be linked back to you or used to recognise you across visits.
• Cookies: The site sets no tracking or advertising cookies and shows no consent banner, because there is nothing to consent to. A single cookie is used only to keep the site owner signed in to the private admin area; ordinary visitors are never issued one. Your own settings (theme, favourites, tool history) stay in your browser's local storage and are never transmitted. So does the pacing of the occasional “support KioTools” reminder shown after a download — a count of downloads and when it was last shown or dismissed, kept only so it can be spaced out. The one exception is PayPal: when you open the donation window or a Pro Services request page, PayPal's payment buttons load from PayPal, which may set its own cookies under its own privacy policy.
• Pro Services orders: To place an order you give us your email address and a description of what you need (and, optionally, how you would use it). We also keep an order code, the service and price, its status, and PayPal's payment and order references. We never see or store your card or PayPal login details — PayPal handles the payment. We use this information to fulfil the order, email you about it, and handle refunds.
• Donations: A donation is paid through PayPal; we receive PayPal's confirmation of the payment, not your payment details.
• Bug reports: If you use Report a Bug, we store what you type — an optional name, the tool, and your description.
• Contact submissions: If you message us on Telegram or by email, we receive the information you choose to provide in order to respond to you.

The site is hosted on Vercel, which serves every page and therefore processes the requests your browser makes. Our aggregate counters, Pro Services orders and bug reports are stored with Upstash. A few tools download their processing engine on demand from the public CDNs unpkg, jsDelivr and Google's storage CDN — those requests fetch program code only; your files are never sent to them.

Payments and donations are processed by PayPal. Order confirmation and delivery emails are sent through Resend, and messages you send us on Telegram pass through Telegram. In Live mode, Keyword Suggestions contacts Google, YouTube or Bing directly, as described above. No third-party analytics or advertising service is used, and we do not sell your personal information.

KioTools is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or request deletion of personal data we hold about you. To make a request, message us on Telegram or email support@kiotools.com.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date above reflects the most recent revision.
