What is KioTools?
KioTools is a collection of free utilities for everyday file and text jobs, and this page is the full directory. The tools are organised into PDF, Image, Design, Audio, Video, Text, SEO, Developer, Calculators, Converters, Security, Business & Finance, and Productivity & Media. Each one opens on its own page and does one job well, and they run directly in your browser, so there's nothing to install and no account to create.
When to use it
- Merging, splitting, rotating, numbering or signing a PDF without installing desktop software
- Resizing, compressing, cropping or converting images before you upload or send them
- Trimming, joining, compressing or converting audio, and joining video clips
- Cleaning up, counting or transforming text, and checking SEO basics like meta tags and keywords
- Formatting JSON, testing a regex, generating QR codes or working with other developer utilities
- Quick calculations and unit or format conversions when a full app is overkill
How to use it
- 1Use the search at the top of the page, or press Ctrl+K (Cmd+K on Mac) from anywhere on the site, to search every tool
- 2Pick a category chip — PDF, Image, Audio, Video and more; on a smaller screen, open Filters for the rest
- 3Open a tool, then drop in your file or paste your text
- 4Tap the star on a tool to save it to Favorites; Most Used fills in as you use tools
- 5Download or copy the result when the tool finishes
Frequently asked questions
Are these tools really free?
Yes. Every tool can be used for free, with no sign-up and no pop-up ads. KioTools also offers optional paid Pro Services for custom requests, but they are separate and never required to use a tool.
Do my files get uploaded to a server?
No — the tools process your files and text locally in your browser, and KioTools never receives them. The one exception is the keyword tool's Live mode, which sends your seed keyword straight to Google, YouTube or Bing's public autocomplete service to fetch suggestions; its Offline mode stays fully local, and the tool page says which is which.
Do I need an account?
No. There is nothing to sign up for. Your Favorites and Most Used lists are saved in your own browser, on your device, and are never sent to an account.
Is there a limit on file size?
Because everything runs on your own device, the practical limit is your device's memory rather than a fixed quota. A tool warns you before you process an unusually large file — for example an image over 25 MB — and batch tools accept a limited number of files at once, so a very large batch is best split into a few runs.
How do I find the right tool quickly?
Filter this page by category, and use the search at the top of the page — or press Ctrl+K (Cmd+K on Mac) anywhere on the site — to search every tool by name or purpose. Popular highlights well-loved tools, Most Used tracks the ones you open most on this device, and Favorites keeps the ones you come back to.
