Frequently asked questions
How accurate is the syllable count?
It's a heuristic based on vowel groups with a few English adjustments — close enough for a readability estimate, but not a dictionary-perfect count.
What's a good Flesch Reading Ease score?
Roughly 60–70 is plain English suitable for most readers. Below 30 is very difficult; above 90 is very easy.
What text counts as a sentence?
A run ending in a period, question mark or exclamation mark. Unusual punctuation can shift the count slightly.
