Color Replace

What is this tool?

Color Replace finds every pixel close to a chosen colour, measured in RGB distance, and recolours it. The Tolerance slider sets how close counts as a match, and Edge softness fades the change out smoothly so there are no jagged borders. In Keep shading mode the replacement takes over the hue while each pixel's brightness stays, so highlights and shadows survive.

When to use it

  • Recolouring a product, garment or car in a photo
  • Swapping a flat background or logo colour
  • Making a solid colour transparent
  • Fixing an off-brand colour in a graphic
  • Applying the same colour change to a whole set of images

How to use it

  1. 1Drop one or more images
  2. 2Click the preview on the colour you want to replace
  3. 3Choose the new colour and a method: Keep shading, Flat colour or Make transparent
  4. 4Tune Tolerance and Edge softness, then click Download

Frequently asked questions

What does Keep shading do?

It changes the hue of matching pixels to the new colour while preserving each pixel's lightness, so a red object turned blue still shows its highlights and shadows.

How do I select only part of a colour range?

Lower the Tolerance so only pixels very close to the picked colour are changed, or raise it to catch more shades. Edge softness blends the border.

Can I make a colour transparent?

Yes — choose Make transparent and download as PNG or WebP. JPEG can't store transparency.

Why did similar-looking areas not change?

Photos contain many slightly different shades. Increase the tolerance, or pick a colour from a mid-tone area of the object.

Is my image uploaded?

No, all processing happens locally in your browser.
