GPA / Grade Calculator
GPA / Grade Calculator
What is this tool?
A GPA and grade calculator with two parts. The GPA part weights each course's grade points by its credits, supports 4.0, 4.3 and 5.0 scales, lets you edit what every letter is worth, and combines your earlier GPA and credits into a new cumulative GPA. The course-grade part averages weighted assessments and works out the score needed on the final to reach a target. Everything runs in your browser.

Frequently asked questions
How is GPA calculated?
Each course's grade points are multiplied by its credits, those quality points are added up, and the total is divided by the total credits. A 4-credit A (4.0) counts for more than a 2-credit A.
My university's scale is different — what do I do?
Pick the closest scale and choose "Edit the points each letter is worth" to match your transcript, or switch to "Grade points" and type the points directly. Universities differ on details like what an F is worth, so the preset values are only a starting point.
How does the cumulative GPA work?
Your earlier GPA is multiplied by your earlier credits to recover its quality points, which are added to this term's, and the sum is divided by all the credits together.
Will it match my official GPA?
It should be very close if the scale and credits match, but your registrar's number is the official one — repeated courses, grade replacement and rounding rules are handled differently from school to school.
