Trading Journal
What is this tool?
A trading journal and performance-analytics tool. Log trades one at a time — instrument, direction, entry/exit price, size, stop-loss, P&L, and tags for strategy and emotion — and it computes the metrics serious traders track: win rate, profit factor, expectancy, average R-multiple, max drawdown, win/loss streaks, and an equity curve, plus a breakdown by instrument and by strategy.
When to use it
- Tracking real trading performance instead of relying on memory or a broker statement alone
- Finding out whether a strategy actually has a positive expectancy over many trades
- Spotting which instruments or setups are actually profitable versus which just feel that way
- Reviewing win/loss streaks and drawdown to manage risk and avoid tilt
- Tagging trades by emotion (FOMO, revenge, disciplined) to catch behavioral patterns over time
How to use it
- 1Open the Log Trade tab and enter a trade's date, instrument, direction, entry/exit price, size and fees
- 2Enter the realized P&L from your broker statement, and optionally a stop-loss for R-multiple tracking
- 3Tag the trade with a strategy and an emotion, and add any notes
- 4Switch to the History tab to review, edit or delete logged trades
- 5Switch to the Analytics tab to see your win rate, profit factor, equity curve and breakdowns update automatically
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to connect a broker account?
No — there's no live account connection. You enter each trade's details yourself, typically copied from your broker's trade history.
What's a profit factor?
Gross profit divided by gross loss — a profit factor above 1 means your winning trades outweigh your losing trades in total dollar terms.
What's an R-multiple?
A trade's profit or loss expressed as a multiple of the amount risked (based on your stop-loss distance) — it lets you compare trades of different sizes on the same scale.
Is my trade data saved anywhere?
Only in your own browser's local storage — nothing is sent to a server, and it stays on this device.
