Grid & Split Image Maker
Grid & Split Image Maker
What is this tool?
The Grid & Split Image Maker divides a picture into equal rows and columns and saves each tile as its own file. In Square tiles mode it crops the edges just enough that every tile is a perfect square; in Keep the whole image mode nothing is cropped and the tiles take whatever shape the picture divides into.
When to use it
- Building a 3×3 Instagram profile grid from one big picture
- Splitting a panorama into carousel slides
- Cutting a poster or map into printable sections
- Making puzzle pieces or a tiled wall of images
- Dividing a sprite sheet or collage back into separate images
How to use it
- 1Drop an image
- 2Pick a quick layout or set columns and rows
- 3Choose Square tiles or Keep the whole image, and the numbering order
- 4Check the preview, then download all tiles as a ZIP
Frequently asked questions
In what order should I post the tiles on Instagram?
Instagram shows the newest post first, so post tile 1 first — it is the bottom-right tile — and work backwards. The Instagram order numbering does this for you.
Will the tiles be cropped?
In Square tiles mode the outer edges of the picture are trimmed evenly so all tiles are square. Choose Keep the whole image to avoid any cropping.
What is the maximum grid size?
Up to 10 columns by 10 rows, so up to 100 tiles.
Do tile edges line up exactly?
Yes. Cut positions are calculated from the whole image, so tiles never overlap or leave gaps even when the size doesn't divide evenly.
Is the image uploaded?
No, the cutting happens locally in your browser.
