About this option

A WiFi QR code lets guests join your network by pointing a phone camera at it, with no password to read out. This page opens the QR generator on its WiFi tab: enter your network name, password and encryption, and download the code to print.

When to use it

How to use it

  2. 2Enter the network name (SSID), choose the encryption type and type the password

  4. 4Download the QR code as PNG, JPG or SVG and print it

Frequently asked questions

Is my WiFi password sent anywhere?

No. The code is generated in your browser; the password is only encoded inside the QR image.

Which encryption should I choose?

Most home networks use WPA/WPA2. Pick No password only for an open network.

Do phones scan it without an app?

Yes. Current iPhone and Android cameras read WiFi QR codes and offer to join the network.
