About this option
iPhones save photos as HEIC, a compact format that Windows, many websites and most printers cannot open. Converting to JPG makes them usable anywhere. This page opens the converter on JPEG; drop your HEIC files and your browser does the decoding locally.
When to use it
- iPhone photos won't open or upload on a Windows PC or a website
- You need to email or print pictures from an iPhone
- Sharing a whole album with someone who doesn't use Apple devices
How to use it
- 1Drop your .heic or .heif files (up to 50 at once)
- 2Keep JPEG selected at the default quality
- 3Click Convert — large photos can take a few seconds each
- 4Download the JPGs or the ZIP
Frequently asked questions
Is HEIC the same as HEIF?
HEIC is the usual file extension for images in the HEIF format. Both are accepted here.
Will I lose quality?
JPG compression is lossy, but at 92% quality the difference is hard to see. Choose PNG instead if you want a lossless copy.
Do my photos get uploaded?
No. The decoding happens in your browser, which matters for personal photos.
