About this option

Squares are the shape of profile pictures, Instagram posts and product thumbnails. This page opens the cropper locked to a 1:1 ratio, so you only choose which part of the picture to keep.

Frequently asked questions

Can I keep the whole picture instead of cropping?

Yes. To fit it into a square without losing any part, add padding with the Image Aspect Fit tool.

What size will the square be?

It uses the largest area that fits your crop; you can set an exact output size in the tool.

Does cropping lower the quality?

No. Pixels outside the crop are removed and the rest stay unchanged.
